The new Olon fish market and surrounding towns are more than enough for daily shopping!

Olón isn’t too far from Guayaquil. But Manta is closer by in Kilometers (or miles). However, the road from Olón to Guayaquil is much better, wider and saver, with less bends and more lanes. So, getting to a big City from Olón, it’s easier to go from Olón to Guayaquil as going from Olón to Manta. Of course, Salinas & La Libertad are also pretty big towns, with Malls, Notaries, Visa, Medical & other Government Institutions. Salinas is about 1.10hours drive by car and 2+ hours by bus. Your bus will first arrive in Santa Elena town (same name as the Province of Santa Elena of which it’s the capital). Near the Bus Terminal, there is a Shopping Centre with a MiComisariato Store in Ballenita. This is less than 50 minutes by car. By bus, it may take from 1.15 to 1.45 hours to get to the Sumpa Terminal and Ballenita Shopping Centre, depending on time of day. Traveling by local busses CITUP and MANGLARALTO, take into consideration they drive VERY slow, unless it’s Peak Hour (at which time they are VERY full and drive VERY fast). For the closests small supermarket, there is a TIA in Montañita, just 5 minutes from Olón. There is also a new Tuti in Palmar, about 30 minutes away.
