A walk through the Olón forest is easy enough, not many trails cross so as long as you follow a road or the Olón river, you should be good to go!
Always make sure to bring water & other preparations, even if you stay closeby and just follow the Olón river from the Highway (between the Highway and the Beach is a small Manglar (mangrove)  which isn’t easy to pass by foot at all.

You can also choose to go from Olón more inland (by car) and follow the road to San Vincente! Here, you can park your car or tell your taxi to pick you back up from after your walk (Please be aware phone may not always have a signal in the forest, nor in San Vincente de Loja de Olón).

Further on the Road, when you first see the river, cross it and when you see the river again, you can choose to also cross it and follow the secondary trail.
This will eventually lead you to Cascada de Alex, where you can do activities and have a drink (appointments may be required in off-season; inform with Azauel at the large Zamora hardware store at the Olón Highway).

With a Bicycle or motorbike, you can reach a lot further inland by following the main trail, just don’t go when it has rained the days before! The road is not paved and has some big inclines.
Eventually you can reach the tiny town of Casas Viejas along the Olón/Ayampe River which is very wide and shallow at that point, leaving a huge amounts of little white stones for a photo opportunity!
